Zhiweiguan West Lake Lotus Root Starch (西湖藕粉) is a Chinese dessert mix that becomes a smooth, translucent sweet soup when prepared with freshly boiled water. Choose floral, fruit-and-nut or pure varieties for a warm breakfast or afternoon snack.

Ingredients & allergens by variety
Red Date & Lotus Seed: Lotus root starch, white sugar, maltodextrin, red dates (at least 1%) and lotus seeds (at least 0.5%).
Osmanthus & Lotus Seed: The supplied osmanthus lotus seed package lists lotus root starch, white sugar, lotus seeds and osmanthus. Check your selected fragrance option's package for its full ingredient list and proportions.
Sugar-Free Pure: Lotus root starch.
Rose & Tremella (Snow Fungus): Lotus root starch, white sugar, maltodextrin, tremella (at least 2%), edible rose petals (Rosa rugosa, at least 0.5%) and sodium carbonate.
Nut Blend: Lotus root starch, icing sugar, raisins, dried cranberries (cranberries, white sugar and sunflower oil), cashews, almonds, goji berries, dried purple sweet potato and osmanthus. Contains cashews and almonds (tree nuts). The label also identifies nut and fruit ingredients. Children should eat under adult supervision because the mix contains nuts.
Knife-Shaved Pure: Lotus root starch.

Preparation & storage
Use freshly boiled water at 95°C or above and stir until the mixture turns translucent. Water amounts and mixing steps vary by variety; follow the selected package.
- Red Date & Lotus Seed: add hot water in one go, approximately 8 parts water to 1 part powder.
- Pure 400g: mix 20g with a little cool boiled water first, then quickly add hot water; approximately 8 parts water to 1 part starch.
- Rose & Tremella: mix one sachet with a little cool boiled water, then quickly add about 200ml hot water.
- Nut Blend: mix 30g with 10ml cool boiled water, then add 150ml hot water.
- Osmanthus & Lotus Seed and Knife-Shaved Pure: mix with a little cool boiled water first, then quickly add hot water and stir; follow the package ratio.
Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal after opening and use promptly. Check the production date on the package.
